Se Eun Park, aVP corporate relations

Why did you join SWIB? I joined SWIB because I wanted to empower women to explore opportunities in workplaces where we are minorities. I have been there and am still going through the journey, just like other women. There were challenging times in my pre-MBA life, but I have made my way through them. By reflecting on and leveraging my experiences, I want to contribute to the women's community as much as possible to extend our presence everywhere.

Favorite part about Stern: I like great people - Stern's known for great people, and the school continues highlighting that our classmates are not competitors but colleagues. I have learned and grown up so much by listening to and working with great people that I have met at school. I personally enjoy the classes because they are high quality, and all my professors are very passionate about coaching us.

Advice for women considering pursuing business school: It's not the gender that holds us back, but our mindset. I have faced challenges, but I am glad I made it to Stern and am pursuing what I truly want to do. Coming from a conservative southern part of Korea, I never expected that I could make it here. If I can do it, you can do it, too.

Fun Fact: I have a separate fridge just for my Kimchi (It's specially made to keep Kimchi, Korean pickles).
