Panel Discussion: Authenticity in the Workplace

Often times, we are told that we should feel empowered to bring our full selves to the workplace. However, marginalized or minority groups often do not feel as if they can do so without facing backlash. Moreover, similar to resilience as a whole, female-identifying individuals are often praised for being "positive" and "agreeable" in the workplace which leads to inauthenticity and toxic positivity. This creates a cycle of burnout at the individual level and negative ramifications on the workplace as a whole.

Panelists: Margaret Rosen - SVP, MasterCard; Amy Woltman - VP & Chief Legal Officer, Prudential Financial; Niya Mogre - Principal & Senior Finance Manager, Mercer; Sade Balogun - Group Marketing Manager, Starbucks

Moderator: Dolly Chugh, Award Winning Professor of Management and Organizations at NYU Stern and Author of The Person You Mean to Be: How Good People Fight Bias

2:05-3:00 PM

Panel Discussion: Redefining Failure

We often hear success stories from speakers, and while they are certainly inspiring, they can sometimes leave us feeling like we have not done enough or have misstepped too many times. For this panel, our very successful panelists will describe how and when they felt like they failed and speak about the concrete steps they took to adjust or course correct after that failure (especially relating to mind-set).

Panelists: Young Lu - Investment Banking Associate, Citi; Carmelle Cadet - Founder & CEO, EMTECH; Chandrika Shrinivasan - Business Unit Head, Tata Consultancy Services.

Moderator: Beth Briggs, Associate Dean, Career Services
